BUSINESS RESEARCH GROUP (BRG)
Launched in 1991, the Business Research Group (BRG) comprises corporate
travellers, undertaking air travel on a frequent basis. Approximately 53
per cent of Business Research Group members work with major
international corporations, 41 per cent with SME's - a balance
comprising a mixture of governmental staff, self-employed consultants
etc.
The BRG currently totals more than 62,000 members (May 2007 - 2008 update
pending).
The travel frequency for BRG members comprises a minimum of 6
intercontinental long haul return trips in a 12 month period - a return
trip counting as 2 flights.
Trip Reports (May 2006 - May 2007) confirm that 93.6 per cent of BRG
members made at least 1 return trip between :
Europe to USA + Asia
Asia to USA + Europe
Australia to Europe + USA + Asia
Africa to Europe + USA + Asia
Middle East to Europe + Asia + USA
S America to Asia + USA
The BRG members originate from over 65 countries, and 84 nationalities
are represented. Female travellers make up 14.6 per cent of BRG
membership - with this currently increasing at approx 1.04 per cent per
annum.
Geographical composition of the BRG is shown in the following tables.
The tables show place of residence or business domicile for the BRG
members - it is not indicative of nationalities in a specific region -
the "expat" percentages are shown for each country grouping.
BRG members complete survey questionnaires for Skytrax projects, and do
not receive payment for this service. Skytrax incentivise each research
project to encourage full participation.
BRG questionnaire completion is either by email or online questionnaires
- the latter being preferred format for 95.7 per cent of BRG members :
enabling faster and more efficient data tracking and analysis by
Skytrax.
BRG members complete a wide range of surveys conducted by Skytrax,
although we limit cross survey participation in any given year. BRG
Members who participate in a specific airline Product Survey would not
be invited to complete a similar study within the next 12 month period.
BRG member identities are treated in a confidential manner, according to
the terms of privacy policy agreed with members, and Data Protection Act
(UK) regulations adhered to by Skytrax. General demographics of the BRG
members are supplied for each research project.
